First off . . .
It's not 'doxing' to mention the city where a person resides, that's not privileged information given that Lee's Summit has a population of more than 100,000 people. The AG is simply incorrect to use that terminology and hopefully some of his supporters will show him how to quietly recover from his very minor language error.
However . . .
Where the AG is spot on 100% CORRECT is that KCMO public accounts have no biz expressing political opinion and jumping into a culture war issue threatens to violate the civil rights of their target using taxpayer resources.
We'll have more on this story later but for now here's the AG weighing in against KCMO . . .
“Our nation is founded on a bedrock commitment to the free exercise of religion," Attorney General Andrew Bailey said in a statement. "In addition, Missouri law specifically prohibits faith-based discrimination against Missouri residents. Yet, your office apparently believes it is appropriate to denigrate a devout Catholic for comments he made about his own faith at a religious college.”
Bailey's office also provided a letter to Lucas.
(Mayor Quinton) Lucas and the city's X account commented about Wednesday night's post, saying it was a mistake.
