The bill saw bi-partisan support in the Senate Committee on Local Government and Elections and even has support from the sitting Jackson County Assessor Gail McCann Beatty.
Supporters said the bill was filed due to reported data errors, long lines, and questionable assessments in Jackson County.
If lawmakers approve the resolution, it would go before voters on a statewide ballot to become law.
