Kansas City 2024 Homicide #43: Young Man Gunned Down On East Side

Deadly gunfire in broad daylight claims the life of another local resident.

Last year at this date on the calendar the homicide count numbered 51 in a record-breaking year for killing.

Homicide 2700 block of Quincy 

This afternoon just after 4:00 PM officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Quincy on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival officers located a male victim in the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers performed life saving measures and EMS simultaneously responded. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

This is being investigated as a homicide. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim to be in their late teens or early 20s.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are canvassing the area to gather any information about what led up to the incident.
