Missouri GOP Rejects Demands For Crackdown After Kansas City Mass Shooting

Of course we expect more debate on this topic as campaign 2024 moves along. 

However . . . A caveat so that our denizens of the discourse don't get too "overzealous" in their advocacy.

Don't expect much to change. Because, after all, this is an election year.

Here's a quote that notes as much and more info on upcoming ballot issues:

House Speaker Dean Plocher, R-Des Peres, said in a news conference Thursday “laws alone” don’t solve the problem of gun violence.

“We will work on the unfolding events in Kansas City, but I believe Kansas City already has an ordinance ... in the books that should’ve prevented what happened. Laws alone don’t solve the problem,” Plocher, a Republican running for lieutenant governor, told reporters Thursday.
