The Royals aren't being honest with anybody and many politicos are desperate for any kind victory as in-fighting worsens and 2024 election year hysteria takes hold . . . Beyond community benefits questions, sources are unclear for "hundreds of millions of dollars" in public financing that Legislator Jalen Anderson said the Royals seek from Kansas City and Missouri — beyond the $350 million the team wants upfront from a county sales tax extension. A desire to negotiate state support while Gov. Mike Parson remains in office also reportedly drives the Chiefs' interest in an April ballot question.
"Not only do we have to get it right here, but we have to get it right across the street (at City Hall), and we have to get it right down in Jeff City," Anderson said at the meeting. "I just wanted to put that on everyone's mind."
