TKC Sneak Peek: EPIC Jackson County Leadership Struggle

Today, just for close readers of our blog community, we want to share an advanced view of an EPIC fight for power at the courthouse that will have implications for the 2024 election year.

The basics . . .

FIGHT FOR CONTROL OF JACKSON COUNTY'S LEGISLATURE HAS REACHED CRITICAL MASS!!!

Behind the scenes there has been quite a bit of infighting and alliances are changing rapidly. Here's how it stands now according to TRUSTED & KICK-ASS INSIDERS . . .

As we've noted previously . . . Legislator Megan Marshall is now in a VERY PUBLIC DISAGREEMENT with Legislative Chairman DeRon McGee . . .

This comes after her public dispute with Legislator Manny Abarca . . .

Now . . .

Legislator Marshall is a formidable person, she's a Marine and it's clear to voters she might not be ready to fall in line lockstep and take orders . . . Especially if she (seemingly) feels that she's not getting an appropriate level of respect. 

Accordingly . . .

January's vote for a new Legislative Chair is already growing contentious and insiders note the very real possibility of Marshall's collab with Republicans in order to oust the current Chairman.

This is important because if Legislator Marshall splits with McGee then she has made a CAREER CHOICE that puts her at odds with Freedom Inc. And yes, they will hold a grudge . . . Don't believe TKC??? Go ask FORMER Councilman Brandon Ellington how fighting with Freedom turns out for reelection chances.

Here's the move in play . . . 

Insiders had feared Legislator Marshall would make a run for Chair. 

It turns out she's smarter than that . . .

Instead . . . Freedom, Inc. supporters now warn that, instead, she'll align with GOP colleagues and support 5th District Legislator Jeanie Lauer as the new Chairman. 

Don't worry . . . It gets worse . . . 3rd District Legislator Charlie Franklin find himself with a growing GOP constituency in Eastern Jack and even the last remaining Democratic Party loyalists out there are moderate at best and don't align with the progressive agenda currently at play in the Courthouse. 

So it might be in Legislator Franklin's best interest to vote Republican as well.  

And nobody REALLY knows what Jalen is going to do . . . 

What happens then???

A new Republican leader takes hold, count in-fighting gets even worse . . . There's more room for Executive Frank White to maneuver but basically . . . We'll see political chaos at the courthouse right in the middle of the tense stadium negotiations with the Royals & Chiefs. 

And so . . . Our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community will keep watch closely but . . .

All of THIS is why insiders believe that both teams packing up and leaving Jackson County is a very REAL possibility.
