Culture war against an old school classic (albeit still controversial) American form of entertainment didn't earn traction any place but online comments.
Turns out legal arguments were meritless and so much hysteria, ironically, only helped to sell tickets and direct even more public attention to drag performers.
Here's the overview from a libertarian leaning mag that seems justifiably skeptical of so much online tough talk about the fate of lounge acts now attempting to garner an audience amongst youngsters & parents . . .
"This was the year Republican lawmakers went all-in on targeting drag performers—and got a resounding nope from federal courts. In all four states where anti-drag laws were challenged this year, federal judges ruled them unconstitutional.
"That's good news for freedom of expression and bad news for the new politics of anti-queer hysteria brewing on the right."
