It turns out the Kansas City Chiefs & Royals REALLY are set to pack up and leave this town.
Finally, we have a real working deadline to consider . . . And, just like local dudes during the "Friday night run through" . . . It's coming fast.
Here's the bad news . . .
KANSAS CITY ROYALS AND CHIEFS NEED TO GET SOMETHING READY FOR THE BALLOT BEFORE JANUARY 23RD & FAILING TO ACCOMPLISH AS MUCH WILL COULD MEAN THE DEPARTURE OF BOTH TEAMS!!!
Insiders tell us that the Royals & Chiefs know they can win an April election but they're not so confident about any point after that. Fact: Nobody wants to be on the ballot during November Prez Election hot mess.
And so . . .We're talking a rush job and lots of work to accomplish over the holidays.
Here's the bad part . . .
JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE CONTINUES PLAYING STALL BALL WITH THE ROYALS & IS NOW OFFERING CASH RATHER THAN SALES TAX REVENUE!!!
Behind the scenes we hear he's low balling the Royals with less than 20 million bucks which is SOOOOOOOO below the 2 BILLION in sales tax revenue they want . . . It's laughable.
Put simply . . .
FACT: Jackson County Exec Frank White seems to be tanking talks with the Royals & Chiefs and he is no longer a productive member of any conversation about keeping the teams.
In the meantime . . .
The clock is ticking and other cities are taking notice of KC's incompetence . . .
Again, the main point of this post is to provide a REAL timeline beyond mainstream hype.
We don't work for teams or for politicos . . . This fact of life is for readers to better understand the discussion in play . . .
If Jackson County doesn't get something on the ballot by April . . . Then Kansas City is likely to lose pro-sports forever.
Fact . . .
Fans will have Mayor Q & the Jackson County Legislature to blame for this economic disaster in the making and a total disinterest in any genuine, real or honest effort to keep the NFL & MLB in Kansas City.
Developing . . .
