For the record . . . Despite sketchy advocacy and media celebration . . . We're not aware of any law which mandates that biz must lose money amid rampant gunfire.
What most stories don't report . . . That location had been beset by clientele that didn't pay and hassled customers in the parking lot when they weren't fighting and shooting at each other. Shortly thereafter the hot mess moved to Shake Shack where there was a shooting and the burger joint was forced to hire more security and severely limit hours.
In fairness . . . Here's other side of the story:
"Wednesday night, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) issued a complaint saying Starbucks unlawfully closed 23 union and non-union stores across the country in 2022 . . . The Starbucks store on the County Club Plaza was one of the first stores in the Kansas City area that tried to unionize, but the vote was a tie, which counts as a loss. The company later closed the location in August 2022, citing safety concerns."

After being closed for over a year, federal regulators are trying to order a Starbucks location on the Country Club Plaza to reopen.
