Newsflash: Pro-Palestine Activists Protest Kansas City Public Library

Tonight we consider the discourse in Kansas City.

At first we were a bit skeptical about this outburst but the more we hear . . . The more we think that it deserves consideration given that the local conversation seems to be evolving.

To be fair, here's the bold statement from one of the organizers . .  .

"A seminar, misleadingly titled “Crisis in the Middle East: Understanding the Arab-Israeli Conflict,” found itself at the center of fierce criticism.

"The event, which glaringly overlooked Palestinians and labeled the ongoing genocide as a mere “conflict,” was led by two white military historians without any Palestinian or Arab representation.

About the half dozen protesters . . .

"They descended upon the library, their hands marked with red paint – a visceral and haunting reminder of America’s complicity in the ongoing genocide that has wrenched the lives of over 8,000 Palestinians in the past three weeks alone."

Translation . . .

A group of what looks like half a dozen protesters  interrupted a KC Public Library conversation tonight that was comprised of about two or three dozen mostly local seniors . . . A third of whom were working to overcome mobility issues.

Fun fact . . .

The protesters were mostly greeted with a great deal of booing and criticism for not allowing the audience to listen to speakers.

Update . . . We're now hearing that they did "shut down" the event.
