Low Voter Turnout Threatens To Blow Up Kansas City Bus Tax

Generally . . .

Kansas City progressives support freebie bus rides, more taxes for the KCATA and even development schemes that promise affordable housing.

There's only one problem . . .  

NEW POLLING SHARED BY KANSAS CITY INSIDERS REVEALS THAT LOW TURNOUT IS THE GREATEST THREAT TO THE UPCOMING BUS TAX!!!

Like it or not . . . 

With some districts recording less than 10% voter turnout . . . A few frustrated souls could flip voter sentiment and make a big dent in otherwise solid support for more bus money. 

Here's the word that's more important than a fuzzy graph which seyz the same thing only not as vividly:

"The low key threat here is that old voters and pockets of Kansas City conservatives could throw a wrench in bus funding that has overwhelming community support. The bet here was always to leverage voter sentiment and hope that urban core voter habits hold steady . . . The only problem is that if nobody shows up . . . Results are more difficult to predict."

To be fair . . . There is no organized opposition against more funding for the bus so, if organizers lose, they'll only have themselves to blame.

Accordingly . . . 

Tax increases are always a safe bet in Kansas City . . . However, this time around it's strangely disappointing that low voter turnout is now openly factored into municipal planning.
