A recent report downplays an important fact . . .
Thankfully, there are police and some armed personnel currently protecting Kansas City Public Schools.
However . . .
With worsening threats of school shootings & rising local violence . . . Naive parents pushed back against efforts to bolster security.
We're heard reasonable complaints that many schools within KCPS already look like prison camps.
Still . . .
Aesthetics might not be as important as keeping children safe from creepers and so many other dangers.
Even worse . . .
The tragic reality is that students confront the most danger from other students and youngsters and not the outside world.
Moreover . . The utmost concern here is keeping students safe. Time & time again KCPS has shown they're unable to achieve as much and THAT is why so many families continue to abandon this district.
And so . . .
This report is filled with progressive pride that seemingly blames everyone else for gun crime that originates from within urban communities . . .
Check-it . . .
"Applause broke out at a Kansas City Public Schools advisory committee meeting on Wednesday when an employee announced the district was moving away from a proposal to add armed officers to elementary schools.
"In the end, district administrators heard too much opposition to putting more guns on school grounds — even in the holsters of people in uniform."
