Kansas City 2023 Homicide #160: Hyde Park Gunfire Victim Dies At Hospital

Tonight the KCMO homicide count continues to escalate at a record breaking pace.

Unofficially, this latest killing matches Kansas City YTD homicide totals with the horrific pace of 2020  -- The deadliest year ever recorded in local history.

Homicide 900 E Armour

On 11/06/2023 just after 8:30 pm, officers were dispatched to 900 E Armour on a reported sound of shots, while in route the call was updated to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle leaving the scene which was self transporting the victim to an area hospital. Officers made contact with the adult male victim at the hospital who appeared to be suffering from apparent gun shot wounds were he later died from his injuries.

The circumstances leading up to the homicide are unknown.  No one is in custody at this time. We have no reason to believe there is an immediate risk to the public.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.

There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case
