Will Mayor Q Denounce Anti-Israel Activists Like KC Tenants?!?

Thanks to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS our blog community was FIRST to report on Kansas City Northland Council Dude Nathan Willett demanding the removal of a local activist from a local commish following a blatantly Anti-Israel slur on X/Twitter.

We have follow-up from lesser blogs on the sitch, but first, something more important . . . 

THE ANTI-ISRAEL ACTIVIST ALSO RANKS AMONGST THE MOST ENTHUSIASTIC KC TENANTS SUPPORTERS!!!

He's a KC Tenants "regular" and ranks on the paper work for KC Tenants Power -- Their political wing. And THAT fun fact is where things start to get even more interesting . . .

Why???

MAYOR Q HAS ALIGNED WITH KC TENANTS, SUPPORTED MANY OF THEIR GOALS DESPITE THE GROUP'S HARSH ANTI-ISRAEL RHETORIC!!!

First . . .

Let's look at the Mayor's latest setback despite some kind words for the local Jewish Community earlier in the week . . .

"Mayor Quinton Lucas Tuesday withdrew the nomination of Emerson “Jaz” Hays to the city’s Board of Zoning Adjustment, sources at City Hall say."

Another take on this . . . 

"At the meeting, his name and the name of another alternate nominee were removed from the resolution recommending their appointments. Lucas offered no explanation and said the matter of alternate appointments will be taken up later. It was unclear whether Hays would be one of those appointees."

Fun fact . . . 

"He is listed in state records as one of the organizers of KC Tenants Power, the political wing of KC Tenants, a group that advocates for affordable housing and the rights of renters."

Now . . . 

We really need to emphasize this  . . . 

KC TENANTS HAS LONG ADVOCATED FOR PALESTINE AND DENOUNCED ISRAEL AS "COLONIZERS" BY WAY OF DIVISIVE RHETORIC!!! 

In a quick search . . . We wanted to highlight this quote from KC Tenants . . . 

"The global movement to #savesheikhjarrah may seem disconnected from our fights in Kansas City. It’s not. It’s one struggle for the people, for freedom, for our dignity. We’re not free till Palestine is free."

Another look at KC Tenants Anti-Israel advocacy . . .

Accordingly . . . 

The not-so-long-ago Anti-Israel statements of the KC Tenants and the unprofessional words of the low level nominee seem to align. 

None of this is to say that KC Tenants can't change their mind & rhetoric given recent tragic events. 

TKC would like to the group denounce their hardliner stance against Israel. 

However . . . 

MAYOR Q HAS MANY RADICAL PROGRESSIVE SUPPORTERS WHO HAVE DENOUNCED ISRAEL IN THE PAST & NOW MIGHT BE A GOOD TIME TO DUMP THEM OR AT LEAST CONDEMN THEIR HATEFUL RHETORIC IN PUBLIC!!!

Kind words at a prayer vigil from Mayor Q are very nice.

However . . .

More meaningful action from Mayor Q requires PUBLICLY parting company with local activists who have always mischaracterized Israel and have consistently attacked the strongest Middle-East U.S. ally.
