New KCI Ignored Warnings To Build Walkways For Parking Lot

Once again our blog community is the only news outlet which DARES to question flawed new KCI despite effusive praise from lesser journalists amid ongoing traffic concerns.

And so . . .

Winter is coming.

And with increased traffic, KICK-ASS INSIDERS share deets of New KCI conversation that have never been disclosed to the public.

The main point that will likely emerge as more travelers grow frustrated with the airport experience:

INSIDERS BEGGED NEW KCI TO INCLUDE DEDICATED WALKWAYS FROM THE PARKING LOT TO THE TERMINAL!!!

Tragically . . .

Fear of cost overruns shut down this VALID CONCERN.

And now . . .

Whilst critics and travelers continue to criticize the drop-off & pick-up situation because cars take too long to complete the process, they aren't looking at a key component of this hot mess.

NEW KCI DIRECTS PEDESTRIANS INTO CROWDED & CONFUSED AIRPORT TRAFFIC!!! OMISSION OF DEDICATED WALKWAYS CONFIRMS CRITICISM OF CRITICAL AIRPORT DESIGN FLAWS!!!

Again, insiders take us behind the scenes to show us how this mistake happened . . .

"I told them this when they showed us the designs. There were several people who noticed how the airport lacks a lot of accessibility for people who need wheelchair access and travelers who have mobility issues," one insider said. "The new airport is a hike and any person who might have trouble walking or any ADA issue will find a great many challenges navigating this facility. Those begin at the parking lot and continue throughout the facility."

So far . .

Our blog www.TonysKansasCity.com community was among the FIRST to note traffic trouble.

The airport responded by putting crossing guards at pedestrian routes that feed into busy traffic.

Remember that old KCI had 3 underground walkway paths to each of its three terminals. Traffic assistance did not require the current crossing guard setup with employees using whistles & rushed hand signals throughout the night.

Accordingly . . .

Complaints about new KCI aren't just cynicism or nostalgia for the past but very real concerns for public safety.

As we enter another busy travel season, it's worth noting that old KCI accessibility which protected travelers is now nothing more than a memory — replaced by gender-neutral bathrooms, a world-class food court & an array of sketchy public art.

Developing . . .
