The crime wave contradicts so much local hype about upscale destinations and pricey rents.
Often . . . Even the affluent don't want to factor in pricey auto repairs as part of their living expenses for trendy downtown destinations.
Here's the word . . .
"Residents in the River Market and the West Bottoms communities in Kansas City reported break-ins recently.
"This week, more than a dozen residents in a private garage in Downtown found their vehicle windows smashed.
A local auto body shop owner said . . .
"As of 12:30 Friday, between his two offices and mobile units, he had 21 vehicles with broken glass waiting to be repaired"
