Since the school year started, Superintendent Dale Herl told KMBC:
The district has seen 100% of its teaching vacancies filled, which Herl said is something that hasn't happened in years. Most of those new hires are experienced teachers coming from other districts.
Applications for teaching positions is up four times from a year ago.
Enrollment is up 420 students, the largest increase the district has seen in the last few years.
Longer suspensions in the district are down 120%. In 2022, 64 students had already been suspended; this year Herl said it's at 29.
Substitute needs have dropped 18%
