With so much bad news to blog we often forget to take a moment . . . A breather . . . To pause . . . And laugh hysterically at the horrible ideas crafted by Kansas City activists & politicos.
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY SPENDING 39 MILLION BUCKS ON AN UPCOMING "YOUTH ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT" MIGHT BE THE MOST HILARIOUS IDEA FOR WASTING CASH WE'VE EVER WITNESSED!!!
Of course proponents are selling this idea as a violence prevention tool without one shred of evidence that it'll work.
Remember the we hinted a bit at this nightmare with the help of our blog community by way of the KCMO "equitable development plan" that actually wants HALF A BILLION BUCKS in order to fund an unlikely array of sketchy projects that are remarkably similar and also DOOMED to FAIL.
An important concern . . .
Look closely at places like World's Of Fun and realize that even pro-privately-funded-playgrounds with a lot of resources and leeway to manage crowds often FAIL when it comes to keeping control of rowdy youngsters.
A city managed endeavor would be nothing less than an invitation to disaster, heartache and EPIC mismanagement of funds.
And so . . . Of course . . . It looks like progress is going full steam ahead . . .
"Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department's Review Committee just gave approval to move forward with plans for the Oak Park Entertainment District with a bowling alley, pool, zip line, skate park and amphitheater."
