Will North Kansas City Pay DOUBLE TAXES To Lure Royals?!?

That A LOT to ask for a team that has lost 105 games so far this season.

Nevertheless . . .

WE LOVE THIS REPORT BECAUSE IT'S CLEARLY THE WORK OF DESPERATE KCMO POLICY WONKS LOOKING TO UNDERMINE OUR NEIGHBORS ON THE NICER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE!!!

In fact . . . Nobody else has noticed this but our blog community . . . But the best efforts of KCMO leaders have been COMPLETELY NEGATIVE and don't seem very excited about the East Village option yet seek to cast doubt on NKC plans.

It's all fair play when we're talking about greedy developers, billionaires and arrogant politicos.

Meanwhile . . .

Credit to Fox4 for making the most out of an EPIC tip and doing a bit of well timed & captivating journalism.

Check the tax deets . . .

The highest level a county can ask for on one ballot question is one-half of one percent, so if the Royals wanted more than a one-half cent sales tax to move north to Clay County, voters would need to approve two separate ballot questions.

“Look, if it’s all part of one package, I think the voters could understand that, that this is all going for this purpose,” Clay County Auditor Victor Hurlbert continued. “So, if it’s two questions and two circles to fill in right, yes or no, so yeah, but that does seem to be the implication.”
