Protest Amid Deadly Kansas City Police Shooting Appeal: Crisis Beyond Activists???

Give us the grace to explain our honest question . . .

GIVEN THE HARDSHIPS OF EVERY DAY LIFE . . . WE HONESTLY QUESTION COMMUNITY CONCERN FOR THIS CASE OUTSIDE ACTIVIST CIRCLES . . . THE LEGAL DEBATE IS CRITICAL BUT IS THE PUBLIC REALLY CONCERNED?!?!

Consider . . .

Police activists want us to ignore probable cause 'use of force' concerns and stand up for law & order and police doing a very dangerous job.

Social justice activists, ironically, want locals to uphold a conviction and punishment against the defendant/appellant.

There's political grandstanding to be gained on both sides of this tragic topic regarding the troubled life of a guy who has now been dead three years.

After reading a great deal about this case over the years . . . Here's a recent passage that seems to frame the debate fairly . . .

“The appellant (DeValkenaere) shot Cameron Lamb despite Cameron’s posing no threat to anyone and there was ample evidence he posed no such threat and that he was in fact unarmed,” said Ken Cox, Assistant Jackson County Prosecutor.

Cox also argued DeValkenaere was trespassing on Lamb’s property when he fatally shot Lamb who was backing his truck into his garage.

But attorney Jonathan Laurans argued there was sufficient probable cause for DeValkenaere to go to Lamb’s home after Lamb punched his girlfriend, drove recklessly, and reached a speed of 90 miles per hour.

Laurans claimed Lamb had 13 separate traffic violations that day.

“The most blatant of which was overtaking a vehicle on its driver’s side on a red light and turning into cross traffic both ways,” Laurans argued in court.
