It's hard to decipher the point of this guest editorial because the author struggles to string together talking points obviously gleaned from watching hours upon hours of MSNBC.
However . . .
Basically, this bit of amateur punditry hopes that progressive politics also includes greater diversity for the Golden Ghetto . . . Especially the nicer parts.
Taken to the logical extreme . . . MAYBE this is advocacy for housing projects in Mission Hills. Which would be nice given that very few people actually deserve to live there and most are living the good life by way of daddy's hard work back in the late 20th century.
Here's the money line . . .
About 79% of Johnson County is white, with Black and Hispanic residents representing just 5% and 8%, respectively. In the county’s most affluent areas — Mission Hills, Prairie Village, Fairway — white residents account for more than 90% of the population, with Black residents less than 1%, and Hispanic residents no more than 6%.
Fifty-five years since the Fair Housing Act made residential segregation illegal, shouldn’t our population reflect this?
