Kansas City Northland Domestic Gunfire Rampage Kills Teen & Injures Woman

This latest local killing spikes the KCMO 2023 homicide count to #143.

Tragically, this is the 2nd woman in the Northland killed in Kansas City so far this weekend.

Homicide 1300 block NE 119th Ter

This morning, just after 1AM officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of NE 119th Ter. on a reported sound of shots. While officers were enroute to the call it was updated to a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene they observed a garage door open at a nearby residence. As they approached the home  an adult female victim was located lying on the floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The female victim was safely removed from the residence and transported to an area hospital by EMS and is currently in stable but life threatening condition.

Officers were advised additional victims were inside of the home, where they proceeded to make entry into the residence. A juvenile teenage male was located inside of the home unresponsive suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals this altercation is the result of a domestic violence argument involving multiple family members.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements.

An adult male was taken into custody as a person of interest from inside of the home.
Officers and detectives are confident there is not an additional threat to the surrounding areas regarding this incident at this point in time.

This incident will be investigated as a homicide and is considered ongoing.
