2 KC hospitals place among nation's most racially inclusive, 5 others categorized as least racially inclusive hospitals
Here's a peek at the data as we look forward to so many online doctors helping us to unpack the science:
Kansas City has five of the least inclusive hospitals (one star) and two of the most inclusive (five star) hospitals. Those seven hospitals represent 26% of the metro's 27 ranked hospitals. University Health Truman Medical Center and Research Medical Center . . . Ranked 13th and 17th in the nation respectively for racial inclusivity . . .
The institute's new racial inclusivity report assessed to what extent 3,142 U.S. hospitals served patients of color by reviewing "how well the demographics of a hospital's Medicare patients matched the demographics of the hospital's surrounding communities.
