For many of us this was good news. We, here in Kansas City – in the heart of the country – were going to do our part. Two clauses especially stood out for me:
- Requiring future relevant plans and policies address ways to lessen the climate emergency;
- Prioritizing solutions that limit greenhouse gas emissions
Sadly, the mayor’s and council’s declaration has no meaning for the city’s Planning and Development department.
