Downtown Kansas City Support For Royals Stadium Disappears

This week the Kansas City Royals extended their self-imposed deadline for sharing new stadium plans with the public and locals inside city limits didn't seem bothered.

TKC Reality Check . . .

KANSAS CITY SEEMS TO BE SLOWLY GIVING UP ON THE SKETCHY DOWNTOWN EAST VILLAGE STADIUM IDEA!!!

Just as many readers noticed . . .

The plan was NEVER going to work for a lot of reasons including but not limited to parking, highway access and crime.

Meanwhile . . .

Clay County seems to be emboldened by this move and their leaders hope to continue momentum they've created in order to champion EPIC tax increases on their residents along with bond clawback repayments to Jackson County.

The big picture in this ball game . . . Taxpayers lose no matter where the stadium lands.

Nevertheless . . . This not-so-fun-fact deserves to be highlighted . . .

Kansas City East Village excitement has disintegrated in less than a year and with only a modicum of competition. The lack of public support for urban development signals far more concerning doubts about the future of downtown overall.

Translation . . .

Losing the Royals might just be a symptom of underlying weakness of the ponzi scheme inside the loop that has been lovingly crafted by Kansas City developers & politicos.
