Boycott Kansas City 816 Day Because It's Developer Hype Garbage

Residents should already know local places worth visiting . . . They're in your neighborhood and amongst our faves . . . Meanwhile . . . The so-called "816 Day" is just marketing garbage from the desk of Paris Communications which imagines that everybody can afford an $8 vanilla latte.

Skip it.

Buy something really local instead.

Here's more background a proof this gimmick has outlived it's usefulness . . .  

"816 Day is named after the city’s area code and takes place yearly on August 16th. On this date in 2018, Mayor Sly James signed Resolution 180592 to celebrate the newest holiday “816 Day,” thanks to a collaborative effort by the Downtown Neighborhood Association and representatives from the 816 Day Planning Committee."
