This week a violent death in Kansas City earned national attention following racially charged advocacy.
Listen closely and the chattering classes will stipulate that there's really not a lot of legitimate reporting on this tragedy.
In fact . . .
The main outlet to pounce on this story was the same donor-sponsored blog which helped imagine a fake serial killer story that police were forced to publicly debunk.
Meanwhile . . .
PROGRESSIVE JUGGERNAUT NEWS OUTLET TYT PICKED UP THE STORY & SEEMS SHOCKED AT THE LEVEL OF VIOLENCE ON LOCAL STREETS!!!
KCMO currently ranks as one of the murder capitals of the American Midwest and it's understandable that so many national pundits might not understand the level of historic local violence.
John Iadarola of TYT said . . .
"As of right now, it doesn't seem as if that the fact a man was killed and that multiple eyewitnesses were there for it . . . Let alone the racial stuff . . . Is being considered seriously at all.
"Let's say that you're predisposed to think, "Who cares if it was racially motivated? I don't think hate crimes are a thing."
"No one disputes that a man was killed and that it seems super clear who did it and yet we're now weeks two weeks away from the murder and seemingly nothing is happening."
And to that we answer . . .
EXACTLY.
Kansas City is becoming a very violent place and, yet again, threatens to break historic numbers for homicides. Therefore, this tragic killing is just one of many instances wherein justice might not have been served.
Then again . . . It's also understandable that locals would reserve their judgement in the aftermath of rampant hearsay and social media gossip/fundraising that has emanated from this deadly gas station liquor store debacle.
For those without partisan loyalty . . . We can only notice that our progressive friends don't seem quite as concerned about the current spate of deadly violence confronting this town that's typically confined to the denizens of urban core minority communities.
For those who don't know . . .
KCMO has recorded 111 homicides so far this year compared to only 86 at this date on the calendar last year. That's roughly a 23% spike. And those numbers put Kansas City, Missouri on pace to break 2020's historic homicide record given that only 106 homicides had been recorded at this date during that bloody year.
Again, our main point here is that
There only seems to be nationwide outrage, attention and advocacy when there's a culture war advantage to be gained.
Again, one last bit of info on this case . . .
Charges have been filed and, at last report, the suspect is in custody.
Today's update from the newspaper doesn't offer any additional information and seems a bit biased:
Finally, to be fair, the commentary is important and grabbed our attention to share via www.TonysKansasCity.com link/embed . . .
