Tonight we share a moment of appreciation for our most loyal readers as we notice so much of the local "discourse" is nothing more than bots and paid activists.
Example . . .
This evening there's a great deal of local "conversation" about SpaceX streaks in local skies.
Our BEST & BRIGHTEST readers noted the SpaceX & Starlink show much earlier in the week. But tonight it seems that a billionaire bought more than a bit of traffic to drive the message of his importance home.
All of the chatter reminds us that the DEAD INTERNET THEORY is alive and well.
Cosmic irony for TKC . . . Pocos Pero Locos scenarios have been a part of our story since about the time I was about 12 . . . And this makes me even more thankful for our cadre of the most engaged TKC denizens.
And so . . . Tonight we finish up posting with bit of stargazing and tonight's www.TonysKansasCity.com playlist dedicated to interstellar ventures . . .
We move forward by looking back to this classic rock anthem that was both altruistic and futuristic . . .
An 80s Euro-trash rock song somehow seems apropos when talking about Elon's space jam . . .
In the 90s American fascination with space hit a lull as Internets tech took precedence. Still, here's yet another worthwhile Gen-X tribute to futility and fatalism . . .
Something a bit more timely . . . Dua Lipa's best dance tune offers a space-y theme and still remains the hottie diva's best work so far . . .
Finally, per ushe, we pay tribute to Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack . . . A movement so cool that they didn't even seem that excited about traveling the stars.
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe & fun Saturday night.
