Ambitious Kansas City Westside 'Center For Urban Enterprise' Kaput

Last week we learned of a local biz FAIL that was overlooked by our betters.

Another truism . . .

Begging for cash isn't always the best hack for challenging the cruel laws of capitalism.

And so . . . We remember happier days when this promising KC Westside project had more support.

"Set for a public groundbreaking 9 a.m. Monday at 2720 Jarboe St., the $3.5 million project has received a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to assist with construction of the new entrepreneur center in Kansas City’s Westside neighborhood, near the Roasterie and Boulevard Brewing Company"

What happened???

There are a lot of theories . . .

Most of the suits will simply blame COVID and then move on to their next adventure.

We post this sad note merely because there's always a great deal of excitement when local developers share cute drawings with the public . . . And then everybody politely ignores broken promises, dashed hopes and unfulfilled dreams.

The basics . . . This biz endeavor won't materialize and might serve locals better as luxury condos or, preferably, a burrito stand . . . Everybody loves a Westside burrito stand.
