This was mostly a useless event filled with sketchy activist characters . . . Actually, that sounds kinda fun but an open bar would have made if far more impactful.

However . . . Because it's daylight now . . . We'll share the most relevant statement that's probably lost on the bright t-shirt brigade of paid protesters . . .

"Owners see some KCMO city council policies that have come in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic as hostile to owners developing housing . . . It makes developers unwilling to build."

Different visions shared Monday night on how to fix KCMO's housing crisis

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Affordable housing is a problem that's been knocking on Kansas City's doors for years. Dr. Tracy Gunn once struggled to find safe, affordable housing for her and her children. She now helps other moms find their own safe, affordable housing through an organization called Growing Healthy Families.

City council candidates in Kansas City, Missouri, answered questions from people working in the real estate industry about what they would do to solve the housing crisis. The forum was held at the Plaza Library on Monday night. Representatives from more than a dozen organizations in the housing and development industry listened in.
