KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police have asked the public to avoid the area of the 100 block of 14th Street due to an armed barricaded standoff. The Kansas City, Police, Department stated the area is not safe. Editor's Note: This is a breaking news story and will be updated.


Apartment complex in downtown Kansas City evacuated due to standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police responded to a standoff with an alleged armed subject at an apartment complex in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened in the 100 block of E. 14th Street, near the Power and Light District, according to KCPD spokeswoman Donna Drake.

Man killed in Monday night shooting in KCK's Strawberry Hill neighborhood

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - One man is dead after a shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, Monday night. At 9:20 p.m., police responded to a shots fired call in the area of North Fifth Street and Elizabeth Avenue in the city's Strawberry Hill neighborhood. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds lying in the alley.

Missouri carries out the execution of Michael Tisius, who was convicted of killing two jailers

Michael Tisius, a 42-year-old man who was convicted of murdering two individuals, has been executed. Tisius was convicted of killing two Missouri jailers in 2000 while attempting to free a man from the jail. The United States Supreme Court rejected a final appeal from Tisius' attorneys to block the execution.


Blue Springs man charged in deadly shooting near Kansas City gas station

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Blue Springs man is now facing charges in a deadly shooting near a Kansas City gas station. Christopher Lockett has been charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of armed criminal action and stealing a motor vehicle.


Prison transport turned into Chiefs party bus stolen in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Stolen vehicles aren't normally as conspicuous as they are in this story but a Kansas City Chiefs party bus that has been missing since Monday still has not been recovered. The theft happened just off E. 20th Street and Spruce Avenue in Kansas City.
