Here's the problem with local hacks . . .
Tragically, even local journalists mistakenly think that people are hang on their every word.
Here at TKC we understand the reality that NOBODY CARES and local democracy is strictly a low-turnout, low-info niche affair.
And so . . .
Given that KCMO elections are mostly just popularity contests . . . We share a peek at today's battle royale with PICTURES and more than a bit of snark that hopes to summarize the fundamental question voters must decide today.
Let's make it hot . . .
First District
Chris Gahagan vs. Nathan Willett: Northland battle of the mean tweets.
First District At-Large
Incumbent Councilman-at-Large Kevin O'Neill vs. Ronda Smith: EPIC Union Cash & MAGA sacrifice.
Second District
Wes Rogers is running unopposed because . . .
Most KCMO suburbanites already have an escape plan to Liberty, MO.

Kansas City Mayoral Contest
For voters who are unaffiliated this Mayoral contest is tougher than it seems.
Thoughtful people might have a heavy conscience endorsing the mayor who presided over the bloodiest years in Kansas City history and proved unable to live up to promises to fix the crisis.
However . . .
Primary numbers prove that Clay Chastain's campaign is, in fact, a long shot.
Mayor Q might not finish his term in order to chase better opportunities but that doesn't seem to bother people any more than Clay's dual residency in Virginia.
Clay Chastain is undoubtedly part of Kansas City's history and his work has saved historic monuments like Union Station and inspired grandiose dreams about public transit access for all.
Meanwhile . . . Mayor Q represents hope for change and real progresses in order to build a better more equitable future for our neighborhoods & our nation.
And then this tag just came to mind . . .
Aldi-Brand Obama Vs. Out-Of-Towner.
Here at www.TonysKansasCity.com we have the luxury of not having to endorse anybody . . .
And so . . .
You decide . . .
