Homicide - LATE DEATH - E 12th St/Van Brunt Blvd
On 05-07-2023 just before 6:15pm, officers were called to E 12th St and Denver Ave in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim in the area of E 12th Street and Van Brunt Blvd suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.
Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene at that time. They processed the scene for evidence and canvassed for witnesses.
On 05-14-2023, the victim, Kavon Carter b/m 08-24-2005, died as a result of his injuries and his death was ruled a homicide.
Homicide detectives took over the investigation at the time of the victim’s death.
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives directly at 816-234-5043. Or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.
