KCPD investigating after 44-year-old woman dies from 'apparent trauma' Saturday

Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating a homicide that occurred over the weekend near the 1700 block of East Missouri Ave.Just after 2:30 p.m., officers were called on a welfare check at the address above.Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Jamie Craig, 44, inside an apartment suffering from apparent trauma.


Days later, police releasing few details after man shot, killed by KCK officer

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Police have not said if the man who was killed by a Kansas City, Kansas officer last week was armed. Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating the incident. KCPD said the KCK officer who was hurt had minor injuries.

Kansas City man accused of severely beating stranger with metal pipe at 31st, Van Brunt

A 30-year-old man faces two felonies for allegedly beating a stranger with a metal pipe to the point of fracturing his neck and jaw in a daylight attack on Kansas City's East Side. Jackson County prosecutors charged William R. Andrews, of Kansas City, with armed criminal action and first-degree assault, a Class A felony under Missouri law.

KU student from Overland Park found dead at sorority house, no foul play suspected

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Police said a 19-year-old University of Kansas student was found dead at her sorority Saturday morning. The Lawrence Police Department stated officers responded to the Alpha Chi Omega sorority house at 10:30 a.m. and found the student dead in her bed and already beyond life-saving measures.


Kansas City, Kansas, police identify remains as man missing since 2021

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Detectives identify the remains of a missing man found in mid-April. Kansas City, Kansas Police said a hiker found the remains of 32-year-old Justin Siwek in Wyandotte County. Siwek disappeared in June 2021. His family said they found his car parked at a hotel near Kansas Speedway.
