Warm weather violence is ramping up and we share more deets as the KCMO homicide count continues to keep pace with record breaking numbers achieved only in the past few years.

Homicide 82nd and Forest
05-23-2023 just after 12:30 pm, officers were dispatched on a sound of shots call in the area 82nd and Forest. Upon arrival officers located a male juvenile teen who was being treated by EMS for an apparent gun shot wound in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
EMS immediately transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
There is no suspect information available at this time. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated.
Detectives and crime scene personnel are on scene canvassing the area for witnesses and evidence.

There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline that result in an arrest.

Teenager killed in Tuesday afternoon shooting in Kansas City, Missouri
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 16-year-old boy died in a shooting shortly before 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri. Police identified the teen as Zechariah Washington. The shooting unfolded at an apartment complex in the 8200 block of Forest Avenue. Police responded to the scene on report of gun fire.
