Standoff ends with wanted man not found in KCMO residence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - An hours-long standoff with a man wanted for a possible sex crime ended late Monday night when officers searched a residence and did not find the man. According to KCPD Sgt. Jake Becchina, a spokesperson for the department, the standoff was in the 4300 block of NE 45th Street.

A case has been transferred to homicide detectives after the death after the late death of a shooting victim in Kansas City. According to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, 28-year-old Sylvester Roberts died nearly ten days after he was shot during a dispute in a KC residence.


Kansas City mom wants justice after teen son killed while protecting siblings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City mom wants justice after her son was gunned down last week. Darrell Weldon was shot to death in front of his home. "He knew the guy was coming, and he sat outside and waited for him because his younger siblings were inside the house," Arnita Logan, Weldon's mom, said.

Olathe Police Department mourns loss of officer who died Thursday

OLATHE, Kan. - The Olathe Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its officers who died on Thursday. According to the department, Officer Brandon Blom, who served the department in the patrol unit for eight years, died after a medical emergency at his home.
