KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police and the FBI are investigating a robbery at a UMB Bank in Waldo. The FBI reported the robbery just after 4 p.m. Thursday at the UMB Bank at West 85th Street and Wornall Road.


Authorities investigate robbery in KCMO, determine suspicious package not a threat

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A bank robber took money Thursday afternoon from a Waldo neighborhood bank and left behind a suspicious package. The robbery happened about 4 p.m. at the UMB Bank branch located at 8442 Wornall Road in KCMO, according to an FBI news release.


Independence police say there's no danger to the public after a standoff at a hotel near Noland Road

The Independence, Missouri police department said one person is in custody after a standoff at a hotel Thursday morning. Officers were called to what was dispatched as an armed disturbance at the Clarion Pointe Hotel, on South Lynn Court near Noland Road and Interstate 70 around 9:50 a.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Charges against an Independence, Missouri man accused of threatening a Jackson County judge have been upgraded. The prosecutor's office said this happened in part because the state alleges, he was motivated by the fact the judge was Black.

Person in wheelchair struck by pickup at 23rd, Television Place, driver arrested

Man pleads guilty to shooting at Overland Park police officers on Christmas Day in 2020

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Johnson County Court to shooting at Overland Park police officers on Christmas Day 2020. Chaz Lawrence, 32, of Olathe, ran from the burglary scene in the 9400 block of Metcalf Avenue after officers set up a perimeter and searched the area.


Kansas City police locate boy who was missing Thursday
