It's always funny that working-class rubes decry higher taxes on the rich when in fact billionaires like Warren Buffett have been begging to pay higher taxes for more than a decade.
Luckily, here in Kansas City there's very little contradiction about wealth and flaunting it.
Our KC area elite not only enjoy paying less of a percentage in taxes than working moms BUT ALSO want more tax breaks for sports teams and corporate folly.
And all of that leads us to billionaire Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt and her fashion goodness.
But first . . . Let's offer more context . . .
The average individual retirement account lost nearly one-quarter of its value last year, Fidelity Investments reported Thursday. American homes shed $2.3 trillion in value from June to December, according to new Redfin data. The average worker saw hourly wages fall by 1.8 percent in 2022. That’s after adjusting for inflation, an old economic foe that returned to bedevil the American consumer last year.
And many Americans don’t expect things to get better anytime soon. Another Gallup poll shows that a record-high 48 percent of the nation believes the stock market will decline in the next six months. Most respondents also expect both inflation and interest rates to rise.

All of that is pretty depressing . . . Here's hoping that spending precious dollars watching the Chiefs and enjoying their merch makes it sting less.
