At the very least any form of creativity is important EVEN IF it's based on the airport's duplicitous premise: That people want to hang around a glorified bus station longer than what's absolutely necessary.

The new art is being funded by the city’s One Percent for Art Program, calculated according to the $565 million vertical construction cost of the new terminal and parking garage. It is the largest public art project in Kansas City history.

New Arts Program Coordinator Steps into the Cockpit at KCI
Mark Spencer paid rapt attention and took copious notes as around $5.65 million worth of new public artworks touched down at Kansas City International Airport in recent months. Spencer was hired in September by the city's aviation department to serve as arts program coordinator, a new position.
