Given that so much year-end content is nothing more than roundup and promotional fodder . . . We decided to do something a bit more worthwhile and valuable for the local discourse. 

To wit . . . 

HELP OUR KICK-ASS BLOG COMMUNITY NAME THE WORST OF KANSAS CITY 2022!!!

As always, we're here to help and we'll get started with a few suggestions . . .

Westport Mass Shootings

Gunfire around closing time is becoming a tragic tradition for Kansas City's oldest party district. 

All by lonesome, Westport impresario Bill Nigro is doing his best to advocate for this historic part of Kansas City and work to create a safe enforcement. Sadly, local politicos don't seem to be providing much support. 

Meanwhile, social media helps spread the bad word about shootings in this hot spot that keep paying customers away.   

Kansas City Northland Secession Threats

It's not gonna happen. 

Don't get us wrong, it's a scary threat that speaks to a worsening cultural & political divide but Kansas City is NEVER going to give up the fastest growing part of this town. 

Even worse . . .

There are people on South side of the bridge who would like this to happen as well.

Meanwhile . . . 

Reasonable adults understand that humanity has outgrown smallish geographic barriers like bodies of running water. 

Shame on any so-called "leader" who doesn't have a vision to unite the Northland with Kansas City given that this largely residential community holds the key to growth. 

Still . . . As of this writing the threat of succession is nothing more than an empty but effective snub at leaders who can't galvanize support outside of culture war ideologies.

Mayor Q's Lawsuits Against Kansas City Police

There's tough talk on both sides of this debate.

In the meantime. The local murder count continues to reach historic heights. 

Clearly, the legal debate hasn't helped the community at large and the divisive rhetoric represents this town at its worst. 

Downtown Kansas City Royals Stadium Secrecy

The Royals front office isn't being forthright.

The secrecy is a real bummer and reveals that the team has yet to negotiate in good faith.

Now . . .

Insiders tell us that recent purchases offer a hint of the location . . . But real estate speculators have lost MILLIONS on that kind of inside baseball.

Instead . . .

We can only hope the team starts TALKING CANDIDLY about their hope to garner funds for a new taxpayer stadium district. 

The hope here is to KEEP BOTH TEAMS given that broadcast revenue remains their top concern even if the idea of building mini-cities seems enticing. 

Bike Lanes On Truman Road

By far . . .

HORRIFICALLY CRAFTED BIKE LANES ON TRUMAN ROAD HAVE SOURED KANSAS CITY ON THIS HAPHAZARD TRANSIT DISASTER!!!

Everyone shares the same goal . . . To make roads safer. 

This maze near downtown has only hurt business and created needless tension amongst neighbors.

Bike Supremacy has thwarted better options for the future of local transit and by far the Truman Road debacle is one of the worst manifestations of political ineptitude on Kansas City streets.

And so . . .
