Late Night Brew: Martin City Coffee Reflects On Mexican Restaurant Takeover

I don't know if anybody else out here does this . . . But because blogger "hours" are weird . . . 

TKC thrives by way of late night coffee. 

A bit of good timing powers our writing into the early morning hours and makes our keyboard clanging just a bit more enjoyable. 

To wit . . . 

We enjoyed this bit of South Kansas City hyper local reporting on changing times, the end of an era and possibly a bit of demographic foreshadowing . . .

"Dos de Oros Taqueria, located off Blue Ridge Boulevard and Holmes Road, will be moving into the space Martin City Coffee leaves behind. The Taqueria, an offshoot of Dos de Oros Restaurant nearby, has struggled with parking issues since it opened 12 years ago. The new location should expand their customer base by taking advantage of the former coffee shop’s drive-thru."

Martin City Coffee closes, starting succession of changes

There's a shakeup coming to Martin City. Martin City Coffee, 131st and Holmes, is closing December 31st. Dos de Oros Taqueria will open in its location this summer. A new coffee shop will take over business at the nearby pastry shop on January 1st.
