Over the weekend there were so many deadly instances of violence that we lost count of the 2022 numbers.
Thankfully, there was a blessed pause in the killing that allowed us to catch up.
Right now the latest update from KCPD reveals the current homicide count is127. That's an 8.54% increase over last year at this date. And let's not forget 2021 was the 2nd highest year for homicides in KCMO history with 157 at year's end. Sadly, we're on pace to exceed that total.
Accordingly . . . Tonight we take a glimpse at local crime news from throughout the metro and pray that the better angels of our neighbors help to reduce the level of killing in KCMO and throughout the nation.
