Kansas City enjoys more bike lanes than ever BUT it seems that we've also had an uptick in drivers crashing into cyclists.
Clearly the solution isn't to double down on a strategy that doesn't work.
What's worse is that a small group of local activists has politicized "bike supremacy" into a divisive issue that attacks motorists rather than seeking to keep EVERYONE safe on local streets.
It gets worse . . .
12th & Oak insiders know that a great deal of bike lane deals are not so cleverly disguised kickback schemes that are an ethical nightmare for anybody watching closely.
Again . . .
Sadly . . . All of this politics doesn't benefit people on the street who still suffer increasingly dangerous conditions that aren't helped by useless cowtown politicos.
Here's the latest local tragedy . . .
"Police said a bicyclist was traveling south on View Hill Drive, north of Longview Road around 6 a.m. when a vehicle that was also traveling the same direction struck the bicyclist and left the scene without stopping."
