Something to consider . . .
IF EXEC FRANK WHITE WINS REELECTION HE WON'T LIKELY RUN AGAIN ACCORDING TO INSIDERS!!!
This isn't THAT big of a surprise and it's something that the Exec has seemed to acknowledge in public but it's important for voters to understand.
Electing a lame duck could prove interesting given that there's really no incentive to influence him one way or another.
The good: He won't be subject to political whim.
The bad: There will be little if any consequences for his decisions.
Moreover . . .
Whilst Executive Frank White shies away from mainstream media . . . His relationship with insiders who helped him earn his top spot has grown tense over the years. Translation: Urban leaders understand widespread frustration with rising property taxes and seem to acknowledge that the power of Exec Frank White's baseball legacy has faded.
One last term would fulfill his commitments and provide another opportunity to promote new metro leadership.
And so . . .
Whilst few other people are watching the courthouse . . . Our TKC blog community has noticed shifts in power that signal a new generation of leadership taking hold and battling each other for the next spot in line.
