Kansas City Mayor Q Earns Anti-Gun Prize

Kansas City's top elected leader claims an award for his work against local gun rights despite legislative success. 

Remember that the GOP-dominated Missouri General Assembly pretty much smacks down any gun control proposal coming from 12th & Oak.

Nevertheless, here's a recent honor from for the mayor's advocacy against the constant spate of local gun violence . . .

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas has been named the national Gun Sense Lawmaker of the Year by Everytown for Gun Safety.

Lucas has advocated for gun safety reforms in part through his work as the co-chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a coalition of current and former U.S. mayors working with Everytown to advocate for reform and violence prevention.

KC mayor named 'lawmaker of the year' by national gun violence prevention organization

The announcements were part of the organization’s Gun Sense University, an annual training ground for leaders in the gun violence prevention movement.
