3 people injured, 1 critically, in hit-and-run crash Wednesday afternoon in KCMO
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The drivers of a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet pickup truck fled a crash Wednesday afternoon in KCMO and left behind three injured people, including one with critical injuries. The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. when the Toyota Camry entered the intersection at east 30th Terrace and Van Brunt Boulevard, police said.
Case dismissed against man charged in first Mission homicide in 10 years
MISSION, Kan. - According to the Johnson County District Court's public records, murder charges against a 19-year-old in Mission, Kansas, have been dismissed by the prosecutor's office. Robert Jones was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 16-year-old Jamal Pratt in April.

Man dead after crashing, falling off bridge on I-435
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person is dead after falling off a bridge following a four-vehicle crash on I-435 Wednesday morning. According to the Kansas City Police Department at about 5:42 a.m., a black Toyota was travelling north one-mile south of Front Street at a slow rate of speed.
Court documents: Man admitted to shooting, killing man on Fourth of July in KCMO
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jairo Daniel Garcia Perez admitted to KCMO police Carlos Martinez Ramirez after an argument on July 4, a court document reveals. The shooting happened about 6 p.m. in the 8900 block of Longview Road in KCMO. Martinez Ramirez died a short time later at a hospital.
MSHP K9 helps find nearly 100 pounds of meth during traffic stop
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. - Thanks to a Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop A K9, 90 pounds of methamphetamine were found during a traffic stop in Lafayette County. According to MSHP, a trooper stopped a black Dodge minivan on westbound Interstate 70 at about 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, July 21.

Rosa Olivas was lying on the floor inside her house as her 12-year-old daughter was holding her 11-month-old brother while watering tomatoes in their yard.

Nearly the entire stretch of Armour boulevard in downtown North Kansas City was lined with folks wanting to thank fallen police officer Daniel Vasquez.Vasquez tragically died last week in a shooting during what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop. A suspect has been arrested and charged in the case.

Community lines procession route to honor North Kansas City Officer Daniel Vasquez
The community lined the procession route Wednesday as Officer Daniel Vasquez made his way from the funeral service to his final resting place. Many stood along Armour Road near the North Kansas City Police Department. KMBC 9 talked to people paying their respects and showing their gratitude for an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice.
