Cowtown criminals are increasingly creative havoc across the region as we approach Summer . . . Some law enforcement professionals call it "crime displacement" and it's a trend that's seemingly on the uptick.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office reported that (a suspect from) Kansas City, Missouri was charged with:
three counts of second-degree arson
three counts of second-degree burglary
three counts of first-degree property damage
Sheriff Mitchell Allen stated Edwards was booked into the county’s detention center without a bond. One of the house fires resulted in the death of 96-year-old Lorene Fickess. The sheriff’s office told KCTV5 more charged are expected to be filed.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Caldwell County authorities say a man allegedly set two house fires to cover up another fire he set that killed a woman. Harold Edwards Jr., 27, was charged in the fires on Monday, including one that left 96-year-old Lorene Fickess dead.
