The season has changed but, sadly, the rate of deadly local gunfire remains constant.
A quick look at stats reminds us that last year at this time there were 34 killings reported and in 2020 (a record breaking year for murders) there were 33 homicides.
Here is tonight's report . . .
Homicide 11500 block of Holliday Dr.
This afternoon just before 5 o’clock officers were dispatched to the 11500 block of Holliday dr on a sound of shots call.
When officers arrived they were directed to an adult male shooting victim that was unresponsive in the apartment parking lot.
Officers summoned EMS into the scene to render aid and they declared the victim deceased here at the scene.
Detectives are canvassing for any witnesses and crime scene investigators are processing the scene for any evidence.
Detectives are hopeful that someone around the apartment complex heard or saw something that would help them piece together what led up to the shooting.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) --- Police in Kansas City are investigating a homicide in the 11500 block of Holiday Drive. The fatal shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday evening. Police say a man was found in the parking lot of an apartment.
