But there's no denying that a recent social media blast from a politico deserves more attention:

METH TOWN MAYOR WEIR CELEBRATED HER B-DAY IN PALM SPRINGS THIS WEEKEND!!!

Context . . .

- She came in SECOND in a recent primary.

- The Independence Police Department is coping with an overtime construction scandal.

- And, of course, crime continues to spike across the metro. 

Nevertheless . . .

This progressive politico is living the good life in one of the most luxurious locations in the US. 

Here's the verbiage from her social media flex . . .  

"Celebrating my birthday SoCal style in swanky Palm Springs where you can hike the mountains and lounge by the pool on the same day! Best of all worlds!"

Sure, she's a champion of LGBT rights and there's a lot to like about her.

Here talents are huge. 

But this PUBLIC FB POST might be a sign that she's not taking her competition seriously. 

Rory Rowland is a powerful public speaker and he has proven to be a worthy competitor. 

A Sunday moment of doubt . . .

Are we being too uptight about this??? Is a bragging about a luxury vacay something that earns the admiration from people nowadays??? Is that what's hot in the streets right now for the average Independence, MO voter???

Again, TKC has lingering doubts about most things . . .

Regardless . . .

We hope she had a good B-day and is well rested. If she really wants to keep her job, she'll need the break before a tough fight.
