Drunken Fish Sushi Restaurant Shuts Down In Kansas City P&L District

The end of an era arrives for Kansas City's downtown entertainment district.

THE DRUNKEN FISH RESTAURANT & LOUNGE SHUTS DOWN!!!

Insiders remember that spot was one of the most lively destinations in all of Downtown KC at one point.

There was an  eclectic mix of power players, ballers and other celebrities who made this one of the most exclusive local haunts for quite some time.

Sadly, COVID and rising costs brought the party to an end.

Here's what the owner had to say . . .

In a statement, owner Munsok So said he decided not to renew his lease because “the rent got too expensive.”

There's probably more to it than that but there's no denying that Munsok So knows his biz and is probably making the right move. After all, he is one of the youngest and most promising restaurateurs in the nation . . . At the time of its opening, Drunken Fish was part of a growing restaurant empire that now has garnered international distinction and a variety of exclusive locations.

Behind the paywall, the newspaper is covering more of the press release angle . . .

TKC was there at the opening of this place and we're sad to see it go.
